Excise duty rates on fuel oil increased: Huge hike in gasoline and diesel prices

The special consumption tax rate levied on fuel oil has been changed. Gasoline and diesel have received a raise of about 6 TL per liter. An increase was made in the amounts of special consumption tax (excise duty) levied on fuel oil.

The Decision of the President of the Republic on the re-arranging of the amounts of “Special Consumption Tax Applied to Certain Goods” entered into force after publication in the Official Gazette.

Thus, the amount of excise duty levied on the liter price of 95 octane unleaded gasoline will be 7.52 liras in total, and the special consumption tax on 98 octane unleaded gasoline will be 7.99 liras per liter. Excise duty will be charged at 7.05 liras per liter of diesel and 5.77 liras for LPG autogas.

With the decision, the excise duty amounts were increased by 5 liras per liter for diesel and gasoline. Before the regulation, the excise duty of 2.52 TL per liter was taken from gasoline and 2.05 TL from diesel.
