FLUE IN TURKEY

The gradual decrease in air temperatures and the increase in flu cases during this period naturally raise questions about the course of Covid-19. Stating that the immune system has forgotten all respiratory tract infections due to Covid-19 precautions, Izmir Katip Celebi University Faculty of Medicine Department of Infectious Diseases Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Alper Sener said, “Now we will remember other respiratory infections such as the flu again.” said.

The professor said, “There is a gradual increase in other respiratory infections, such as adenovirus or influenza. Starting October and September, we know that there will be an increase in these infections. Then, from November, influenza will also begin. A serious increase in flu infections is expected from November”

Runny nose in virus infection, joint pain in flu

There is an increase in cases of respiratory tract infections and Covid-19 in most European Union countries, especially in the UK. Therefore, we may also see an increase in the respiratory tract and the Covid-19 epidemic. Prof. Dr. Alper Şener said, “This should not make us nervous, but it is also useful for us to be prepared. Because the signs of Covid-19 infection with other respiratory viral infections are almost the same. While we see more runny nose in virus infection, we see more joint pain in flu. Adenovirus appears more predominantly as a sore throat. Therefore, with Covid-19 infections, all of these findings are findings that can be confusing.”
