Fire in the reforestation area in Kas jumps to greenhouses

The fire, which broke out in the dune afforestation area in the Kaş district of Antalya and was reported to have been brought under control in the morning, started again with the effect of the wind during the cooling work.

Kas Forest Management Directorate and the municipality’s fire brigade intervened in the fire that broke out in the Çaykenarı area of the Ova Neighborhood for a reason that has not yet been determined yesterday evening. it is reported that the fire, which is effective in an area of 2 hectares, was brought under control in the morning.

During the cooling work carried out in the burning area, there were flames in the region, again. Four aircraft and a helicopter attached to the Regional Directorate of Forestry were sent to the region as reinforcements.

The flames, which spread under the influence of the wind, reached the area where the greenhouses were located nearby. Residents of the neighborhood mobilized to remove their vehicles from the area. The Gendarmerie teams, who took security measures, removed the surrounding residents from the area. The flames damaged some greenhouses.
