Forbes, one of the leading business magazines in the USA, wrote that Turkey was a “great opportunity” to have a great holiday due to the depreciation of the Turkish lira. In the article signed by Larry Olmsted, “Are you tired of going on expensive vacation to Europe? Think of Turkey for a great holiday at an affordable price,” the headline was used.

According to the news in Cumhuriyet, Olmsted stated that vacation costs had increased due to inflation in Europe and the United States. Olmsted suggested Cappadocia instead of Venice.

Olmsted, who compared prices between countries said, “Most people love a vacation, but they don’t want or can’t afford to keep up with increasing travel costs. Fortunately, those who want a European (or Asian) vacation can think of Turkey with great food, culture, history, big cities, incredible scenery and outdoor activities at affordable costs.

Olmsted stated that AMERICANS chose Istanbul to have a great holiday. Olmsted, who spent less than $1,900, shared details about a one-week vacation to Turkey.

He said, “I went to Istanbul, Cappadocia and Izmir in 7 days. I went to the ancient city of Ephesus, saw the Temple of Artemis, went on a balloon tour in Cappadocia. I went to the Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern with a private guide. We made transfers by private vehicles, stayed in the most luxurious hotels. I stayed in iconic cave hotels in Cappadocia.”

ONE WEEK HOLIDAY IN TURKEY INSTEAD OF 3 DAYS IN VENICE

Olmsted compared Venice and Turkey in terms of cost. Instead of staying for three nights in Venice, he preferred to take a week’s vacation in Turkey. He said, “I love Venice, but I have just returned from my second trip to Turkey, where you can enjoy a luxurious vacation, visit multiple cities and major attractions, stay in the best hotels with guides, domestic air tickets and events.”
