Foreign friends living in Turkey and related Facebook groups

As is known to many of you, the southern coasts of Turkey host tens of thousands of friends from European countries (and particularly the United Kingdom) who have settled in or spend at least a few months here, each year.

When it comes to spending a long time in a foreign country in particular, sharing information about that country becomes very important. This is where “social media,” especially Facebook, comes into play.

These foreign friends share valuable information and advice with each other in the Facebook groups they have created. Actually, there are quite a few such groups, but it’s not easy to say that among them there are many with more elite members – elite meaning wise, kind, logical, well informed etc.

Here, we would like to express our thanks to the administrators of two very valuable groups (with adresses below) that we are also members of. These group administrators not only allow sharing information on topics such as where to swim, where to eat, and where to shop (which are undoubtedly very important), but also enable group members to access current and important news and developments in the country they live in (Turkey) via accepting posts covering important topics.

In our opinion, this is a conduct that requires intelligence and foresight. Consequently, we are able to share news about our country, especially covering life, rents, flights legislation, etc., in these two groups, thus providing quite an important service.

Therefore we thank the administrators of these two groups and extend our best wishes to the group members for their interest in our posts, as well.
