Forest fires break out in Hatay Antioch, Izmir Menderes and Mersin Anamur
Forest fires broke out in Hatay Antioch, Izmir Menderes and Mersin Anamur. Crews are continuing to respond to the fires from the air and by land. The fire in Hatay occurred in a macquis area. The fire in Izmir started in a greenhouse and spread to a wooded area.
A fire broke out for an unknown reason in a wooded area between the neighborhoods of Çarıklar and Bozdogan in Mersin Anamur. Crews, who responded to the flames from the air and from the ground, are continuing to control the fire.
Teams dispatched
The fire, which broke out in the macquis area in the Antioch district of Hatay, is being controlled by air and land intervention. A fire broke out for an as yet unknown reason in the macquis area at the foot of Habib-i Najjar Mountain. Upon notification, 2 extinguishing helicopters, 4 water trucks and personnel belonging to the Regional Forestry Directorate were sent to the region.
Fire spreads to the forest
The fire broke out in a greenhouse in the Çamönü Neighborhood at about 14:30. Under the influence of the wind, the flames leaped into the forest. Upon notification, 2 airplanes, 3 helicopters, 13 trucks and 3 water tankers belonging to the Izmir Forest Regional Directorate were sent to the region. Work is underway to control the fire.
Fire in Mersin Anamur
A fire broke out for an unknown reason in a wooded area between the neighborhoods of Çarıklar and Bozdogan in Mersin Anamur. Upon notification, 3 extinguishing helicopters, 15 terrapins and a large number of personnel affiliated to the Regional Forestry Directorate were sent to the region. Crews, who responded to the flames from the air and from the ground, are continuing to control the fire.
