Free Jazz by the Bosphorus: Galataport Jazz is Back!
Jazz lovers! Get ready to mark your calendars because Galataport Istanbul is bringing back the rhythm with the second edition of Galataport Jazz — and guess what? It’s totally free and open to everyone!

This year’s festival is powered by Volkswagen (main sponsor), with strong support from D-Saat, D.ream, and Doğuş Sigorta. It’s a true celebration of music, culture, and inclusivity, all set against one of the most picturesque backdrops in the world.
What’s On the Lineup?
Day 1 – June 14
- Opening Act: The amazing Selen Beytekin, returning with her magnetic jazz vibes
- Oscar Jerome – British singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer with soulful tunes
- Benjamin Clementine – The multi-talented British composer, pianist, poet, and actor is expected to bring a deeply emotional and powerful performance
Day 2 – June 15
- Elif Çağlar – Trained by jazz legend Sheila Jordan and known as the first Turkish graduate of Queens College’s jazz program. Expect elegance and depth.
- Emma Smith – A rising star from the UK jazz scene, bringing bold vocals and captivating energy
- Richard Bona – Grammy-winning bass guitar virtuoso and composer, closing the festival with a world-class performance
Why It Matters
At the press launch, Mehmet Bali (Galataport Istanbul’s Deputy GM of Marketing) emphasized the vision behind the event:
“Our goal is to create a space where everyone feels included and inspired by art. We’ve already welcomed nearly 45 million visitors over 3.5 years — now we want to surround them with culture, beauty, and music.”
Selen Beytekin also shared her excitement, saying the festival celebrates the “shared richness of jazz and Istanbul’s vibrant spirit”. Expect colorful vibes, international talent, and a whole lot of soul!
Pelin Furuncı, the music programming wizard behind it all, says they’ve curated a selection that blends young global talents with jazz legends to create a truly unforgettable weekend.
