Increases in Special Consumption Tax (SCT) amounts also directly affected fuel prices. In July, the SCT amount for gasoline was increased from 2.52 TL per liter to 7.53 TL, and for diesel from 2.05 TL to 7.06 TL.

According to Sözcü’s report; In January 2024, these amounts were set at 9.45 TL per liter for gasoline and 8.86 TL for diesel. Diesel, which was 20.37 TL in April 2023, increased by 106% to 42.1 TL this month.
