German President Steinmeier meets with main opposition CHP leader Özgür Özel

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who visited Turkey on an official visit on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Germany and Turkey, met with the Chairman of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), Özgür Özel.

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited Turkey on an official visit on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Germany and Turkey. After his programs in Istanbul and Gaziantep, Steinmeier, who came to Ankara today, had his last program in Turkey with a meeting with CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

The meeting between Steinmeier and Özel took place at the German Embassy in Ankara. The meeting, which was planned to start at a certain time, started 55 minutes later than planned.

The CHP delegation led by Özgür Özel included Secretary-General Selin Sayek Böke, Party Spokesperson Deniz Yücel, Deputy Chairpersons İlhan Uzgel, Gökçe Gökçen, and Yalçın Karatepe, CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır, and Istanbul Deputy Namık Tan. The meeting, which started behind closed doors at 5:55 PM, lasted approximately 50 minutes.
