Golden Orange Film Festival held in Antalya every year cancelled after withdrawal of sponsorships

The Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival has been canceled following the censorship process surrounding the documentary “Kanun Hükmü” (The Verdict) and the withdrawal of sponsorships. This marks the first time the festival has been canceled since the 12th September coup in Turkey.

The decision was announced by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek on his social media account. Böcek also mentioned that the festival’s management and team have been relieved of their duties.

Böcek shared the following statement: “As Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, we regretfully announce that we are canceling the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, which we have returned to its essence, which has stood the test of time, and which is one of the most important brands of Antalya and our country, and which we had planned to hold from October 7th to 14th, due to the process that has occurred and been created beyond our control.”
