Greece opening its borders closed as part of its fight against epidemic, on July 1

It is reported that Greece has decided to reopen border crossings closed on July 1st as part of the fight against the corona virus (Covid-19) outbreak. Among these countries with common border gates Turkey is also included.

On July 1, Greece is opening 7 of 14 border crossings as part of its fight against the corona virus outbreak. Turkey-Greece border crossing was also said to be among the opened border gates.

As reported by Greek media the opened border gates are Evzones, Kakavya, Kristallopigi, Promachonas, Nymphea, Urchinelik and Kipi.

At normal times, there is a substantial flow of tourist traffic from Turkey to Greece. In fact, when Greek islands in the Aegean Sea are open there are also many Turks visiting said islands. There are ferry boat services and one can also go on daily boat tours from Turkish Aegean resorts to Greek islands such as Santorini, Mykonos, Milos and many more.
