Number of hotels applying for safe tourism program in Turkey exceeds 720

Communication presidency of Turkey has made an announcement providing information regarding measures taken in tourism sector against coronavirus.  In the announcement made with the title “Steps taken for safe tourism in Turkey” the following statement was used: “Turkey is preparing to welcome its guests with the serious measures taken in the tourism sector during the normalization process that began with the new rules of controlled social life”.

The measures taken were listed as follows:

-With the “Safe Tourism Certification Program” implemented, health measures to be taken for Turkish citizens and foreign visitors to spend their holidays in Turkey were determined.

-Within the scope of the certification program, extensive measures were taken to ensure the health of passengers and employees, as well as hygiene in facilities and transportation vehicles.

-Taking into account the recommendations of the coronavirus Science Board of the Ministry of Health, preparations for the Blue Flag award-winning beaches in Turkey have been completed.

-It has been decided to open Kovid-19 test centers at airports with excess passenger density, until July 1, 2020.

-Periodic monitoring forms and checklists related to hygiene practices in tourism facilities are being prepared.

-An insurance system was developed for the health services of tourists coming from abroad, with the limit being between 2 thousand and 7 thousand euros and the cost being between 12 and 33 euros.
