Hasankeyf in Batman hosts thousands of visitors from various regions of the country during holiday

During the Ramadan Bayram holiday, the town of Hasankeyf in Batman hosted visitors from various regions of the country. Historical sites in Hasankeyf remained the center of attention for visitors during the 9-day holiday period.

Tourists who opted for cultural tourism during the holiday came from different provinces to the Southeastern Anatolia Region, visiting historical artifacts relocated from the reservoir area in Hasankeyf.

Visitors toured sites such as the Imam Abdullah Tomb, Zeynel Bey Tomb, Artuklu Bath, Hasankeyf Castle, Hasankeyf Museum, and Er-Rızk Mosque, taking souvenir photos in front of these historical landmarks.

Local businesses were pleased with the influx of visitors. A shopkeeper, expressed happiness with the number of visitors during the holiday. He mentioned that they had prepared their businesses for the holiday after renovating them during Ramadan. He added that they hoped for the continuation of this intensity in the future to realize Hasankeyf’s potential in tourism.

A tour guide noted that Ramadan was relatively quiet, but they experienced a surge in visitor interest during the holiday. He emphasized the historical and touristic significance of Hasankeyf, inviting everyone to visit and expressing their honor in hosting visitors in their town.

A visitor from Istanbul, expressed his happiness in seeing the historical town, praising its landmarks, stone houses, and beautiful scenery. He also mentioned enjoying the local handicrafts and wanted his family to experience the local culture as well.
