Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has called on people not to neglect the flu vaccine. In his announcement Koca also also said, “The flu vaccine reduces the risk of contracting the flu and alleviates the severity of the disease.”

Koca tweeted the following: “In order to reduce the effects of common flu outbreaks during this time of year, ensure a milder course of the disease, and protect public health, we initiated the 2023 flu vaccine application as of September 15th. Those over 65 years of age, as well as those in high-risk groups due to health conditions, can receive the flu vaccine for free. Please don’t neglect it.”

In his announcement where he shared the vaccine schedule, Koca also stated: “The flu vaccine reduces the risk of contracting the flu and alleviates the severity of the disease. The flu, especially in individuals aged 65 and older and those with chronic illnesses, can lead to complications such as pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis, and ear infections. Let’s make sure to get our flu vaccines. You can get a prescription from your doctor.”
