Health Minister Fahrettin KOCA attended a meeting in Izmir and shared data regarding latest situation and the number of daily cases announced.

Minister KOCA’s statements were as follows:

“We know that there is very intense human mobility and tourism vitality in these regions. We see that there is no increase in cases in such provinces to include Izmir, including Antalya and Mugla.

At a time when there is such mobility, we see that our health workers, especially our army, follow “the Tracing method” we call filiation, which we practice in the field, very seriously. I said we had decided to increase the ICU in places. We have no province with 80 or 90 percent occupancy.

Since we know that the decline in this summer period is mainly the use of masks avoiding patient contact, we see that contact with masks prevents distance. In these provinces, including Izmir, where tourism is active, it is currently entering a stable period.

I think we’ll be seeing cases drop next week. We see it fall in Mugla. We see that treatment at an early stage gives a successful result.

I want to emphasize that our citizens who travel for tourism purposes should try to isolate themselves a little after they return which will reduce contact and help positively.
