Hilton to open 13 new hotels in Turkey

Turkey which has become a meeting point between East and West is growing interest of international hotel chains. Upon the announcement of 17 hotel-chains including American Nikki Beach Hotels and MGM, Dubai Emaar Group, Bvlgari, Armani, Jumeriah, Shangri La, Mandarin, Rezidor, Wyndham Hotels and Soho House, entering to Turkey last year,  the companies invested in the country have begun to expand capacity.

During a meeting at Central Asia-Turkey Hotel Investment Conference (CATHIC), Hilton Worldwide has stated they started working to increase the number of hotels from 20 to 33 in Istanbul and Anatolia at the end of 2013. Didier Martin, Vice President responsible for operations in Eastern Europe, Russia, Turkey and Israel Region, has announced they made 9 ones of these agreements in 2011 and they have signed agreement for 4 new hotels since the beginning of 2012.

Underlining they opened 8 hotels last year in Turkey including Urfa and Mardin, Martin said: “5 percent of Hilton Worldwide opened across the globe was opened in Turkey in 2011.  The number of hotels has become 20. At the end of 2013, the number of the hotel will increase to 33 and room number to seven thousand.”

Simon Vincent, President of Hilton Worldwide Europe, owning more than 3 thousand 800 hotels around the world, said: “We focus on countries such as China, India, England, and Germany along with Turkey. We have 224 open hotels only in Europe. 117 hotels are under development process. We will reach 74 thousand 355 rooms in Europe at the end of 2013.”
