Holidaymakers cause long queues on the way back home from Bodrum after Eid al-Adha
Holidaymakers began to return to their homes from Bodrum which was flooded with tourists during the Eid al-Adha holiday, and traffic came to a standstill. Citizens formed a long queue of vehicles for many kilometers in the direction of Turgutreis-Milas.
Some holidaymakers started their return trip , 1 day before the end of the 9-day Eid al-Adha holiday. The official population of the city is 188 thousand and it reached about 1 million during the holiday. It was reported about 300 thousand vehicles had entered the town during this period.
Those returning home formed a long queue of vehicles for many kilometers in the direction of Turgutreis-Milas. Ambulances on their way to several cases had a hard time in traffic. At intersections where traffic had come to a standstill, gendarmerie and police teams carried out their work continuously. A smooth traffic was observed from Milas to Turgutreis.
On the other hand, it has been reported that more than 100 thousand vehicles have left the district in the last 3 days. It was also reported that about 10 thousand vehicles had been checked in traffic by gendarmerie teams during the Eid holiday.
