Huge pieces of land in Bodrum and Datça to be opened for tourism and housing investment

BODRUM AREA DEVELOPMENT PLAN

The “Presidency of Privatization Administration” is privatizing tens of thousands of square meters of land in the Bodrum and Datça districts of Muğla.

The privatization administration has changed the zoning plan for land in Bodrum and Datça, where concerned properties are registered in the name of the Treasury, totaling to 1 million 232 thousand square meters.

According to the “presidential decree” published in the Official Gazette, zoning plans for an area  of 1 million 103 thousand square meters at the Ortakent district of Bodrum and another area of 128 thousand square meters in Datça, have been revised by the authority.

The zoning plan for the land in Bodrum was changed to ”residential area, hotel area, commercial area, trade-tourism-residential area, private health facility area, parking area“ while the zoning plan for the land in Datca was changed to ”hotel area and daily facility area”.

What about the capacity of municipalities to provide required services?

It is a fact that Bodrum is one of the most popular resorts in the world with a very dense population in summers particularly. The capacity the town can serve in terms of municipal services is certainly far below the population in summers leave alone new residents that would also require such services.
