Number of passengers using Turkey’s airports during January-August exceeds 75 million

It has been reported the number of air-travel passengers using Turkey’s airports during the period of January-August 2021 has been 75.7 million.

The General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMI) under the Ministry of transport and Infrastructure has announced most recent statistics data for aircraft, passengers and freight. Accordingly, the number of aircraft landing and taking off in August reached 88 thousand 337 on domestic routes and 64 thousand 373 on international routes.

Passenger traffic, which has largely declined throughout the world and in Turkey during the outbreak, approached its previous level last month compared to the same month in 2019. A total of 18 million 277 thousand 215 passengers were served with direct transit passengers in August. In January-August, aircraft traffic landing at airports was 467 thousand 882 on domestic lines and 271 thousand 152 on international lines. Thus, a total of 888 thousand 799 aircraft traffic was recorded with the overpasses. A total of 75 million 664 thousand passengers were served together with direct transit passengers at airports throughout Turkey.
