VEHICLES STUCK ON ROADS DUE TO HEACVY SNOWFALL IN GAZIANTEP

The snow that was effective in Gaziantep turned into “suffering”. Due to heavy snow, vehicles were stranded on the roads and citizens were stranded in vehicles for hours.

Due to the effective snowfall, the TAG Highway was closed to traffic. Gaziantep Governor said about those who were stranded on the Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep (TAG) Highway, which was closed to transportation due to snowfall, “1780 vehicles were rescued, 2800 citizens were rescued as of 10:00. We think that so many more people are stuck on the roads.” The Governor said that work was being conducted to open the remaining part of the road.

In a new statement Gaziantep Governor said the following about the developments: “The Nizip side was partially opened for transportation, now it is completely opened. The Nurdag side has been opened to transportation from a single lane. There is no problem with one-lane operation of the road. At the moment, the evacuation of about 900 remaining vehicles is going on.”
