IRAN LIMITS NATURAL GAS SUPPLY TO TURKEY

Iran has cut off the flow of natural gas to Turkey saying it was due to malfunction. Upon this development BOTAŞ has warned the industrial organizations in the country.

The Iranian National Gas Company announced that it had stopped the transmission of natural gas to Turkey for 10 days. Iran cited the rationale for the gas cut-off as a technical malfunction. Upon this development, BOTAŞ announced in its letter to some industrial organizations that used high amounts of gas that there would be a limit on the amount of traction per day due to interruptions in gas supply.

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Petroleum Transportation (BOTAŞ) by Pipelines, the delivery pressure and quantity of gas supplied to Turkey by NIGC began to decrease as of January 17, and the purchase of natural gas fell to about a third of the daily contract amount.
