Imamoglu, mayor of Istanbul Municipality announces crazy project

The second day of the Istanbul City Sports Master Plan workshop started with the opening speech of IBB President Ekrem IMAMOGLU. Speaking at the workshop the mayor said, “The crazy project for me is that there will be no children in Istanbul who do not do sports. I can say very clearly that one of the factors that will determine the future of our country will be the number (rate) of our children doing sports.”
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) organized the second day of the workshop to create a sports master plan for the city of Istanbul which will cover a 30-year period in Istanbul. It is being held at the architect Kadir Topbas show and Art Center. The workshop, which discussed the progress of investments and services in the field of sports within a specific program, began with the opening speech of Ekrem Imamoglu, the president of the IBB.
Academicians, representatives of non-governmental organizations, experts; representatives of sports clubs, press and media organizations and writers participated in the workshop.
LET US INCREASE THE NUMBER OF CHILDREN PLAYING SPORTS
Imamoglu said that young people who worked with a program, were confident, lived in peace with their body and abilities, socialized through sports, raised their grades, would move Turkey to very different places. He also noted following; “In our workshop, the topic of sports and education was very important for us to evaluate with different dimensions. We expect everyone here today to support our activities, especially for our children and young people, to offer us new ideas. For me, the crazy project is that there will be no children in Istanbul who do not play sports (one day). I can say very clearly that one of the factors that will determine the future of our country will be the rate at which our children play sports.
