Interesting opinion of a British resident in Turkey, about Brits living in same country

Turkey hosts many British people as well as friends from many other countries. The author of this post can comfortably say, many Turks are mostly real pleased to be living together with our British friends especially in regions such as Aegean and Mediterranean. It goes without saying Fethiye is the number one spot preferred by a great majority of Brits.

And thankfully these friends enjoy the opportunity of staying / keeping in touch thanks to social media to include Insta and Twitter, not forgetting Facebook, in the first place..

The author of this post has had the privilege of communicating with many British people living in Turkey (as well as people from other European countries mainly) on Facebook groups, in particular.

Sometimes debates take place and discussions get real heated, mostly ending up in mutual understanding and a kind atmosphere. A similar discussion has had to do with Ukrainian conflict and the incident at the White House recently and the author of this post thought he might as well share the content of a conversation he had with a foreign friend on Facebook about said incident – as he found the picture painted, real interesting.

So, down below is the article derived from said conversation – Hope some find it useful and interesting (if not all for sure).

Here’s how a British citizen sees the issue in regards:

“…..I am afraid many Brits here live as if they were in a geographically repositioned Britain-they have British TV and really don’t investigate more deeply.

They accept the news, as presented by the BBC, as the tablets of stone given to Moses… when anyone with eyes can see it is nothing but government propaganda.

Britain and the EU are so brainwashed by years of this that they think the small British army and the even smaller forces in the EU can and should take on Russia.  It is complete insanity..  Russia is not threatening Europe or the West.

Sadly there is still more than a touch of Imperial gung-ho about many Brits. They view Russia with huge suspicion…as if “The Charge of the Light Brigade” only happened last week.

They believe we live in a democracy with free speech, ignoring the increasing numbers of independent journalists, human rights activists and others being arrested under Section 7 of the hideous Terrorism Act and held without charge in British Jails.   

People are losing their jobs in hospitals, civil service and media for daring to question Government policy and its complicity in the ongoing gen0cide in Palestine and its absurd posturing about Russia/Ukraine. ..”
