Interior Minister warns foreigners: I have authority I will cancel residencies without pity
Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu has made a statement regarding foreigners going out during restrictions taking advantage of their passports and said, “I am saying it clearly, whoever tries to exploit this situation with their passports (as residents), I will cancel said residence immediately. I have such authority. I’ll cancel it, and I won’t feel sorry.”
“FIND OUT THOSE WHO HAVE MADE FAKE RESERVATIONS”
Minister Soylu said, “city and intercity public transportation vehicle control is one of the most important parts of this process. A 50 percent capacity limit imposed for urban public transport will be applied during the curfew restriction. It is extremely important that the intercity travel restriction is implemented. One of the main problem areas is the images reflected in the media from time to time from some accommodation facilities. Eating and drinking places in accommodation facilities should certainly not receive daily customers from outside, during this period. For example, find out whoever has made fake reservations and close them down.”

Minister Suleyman Soylu said, “Except those in our country for a short period of time, we have residents for instance. This person shows his/her your passport. Ok, fair enough your passport is welcome. But you’re a resident, you’re obliged to follow the rules of the residents here. I’m telling you, whoever tries to exploit this situation with a resident although he/she is a resident I’ll cancel their residence immediately. I have such authority, and will show no mercy,” he said.
“Because people will stay at home, and only because such persons have a passport, they will use it in the guise of tourists. However, we will not allow that. Therefore, our rules are very clear, we won’t leave any gaps.” (DHA)
