Interior Ministry has made additional announcement to clarify new restrictions to have the epidemic under control. The explanation had to do with traveling intercity mainly.

The Interior Ministry answered 9 questions frequently asked by citizens about the new coronavirus measures announced by AKP President Erdogan after a cabinet meeting.

Frequently Asked Questions About Partial Shutdown Measures

2-How will the inter-city travel of our citizens aged 65 and over be, as well as young people and children under the age of 18, who are also restricted from going to the street on weekdays?

Since the circular imposes curfew restrictions on our citizens aged 65 and over and children and young people under the age of 18 on all weekends – “except for certain hours on weekdays” (10.00-14.00 for 65 years and over; 14.00-18.00 for under 18 years) ;

– Traveling of 65 years of age and older citizens by private vehicles or public transportation will be subject to permission during periods on weekdays or weekends when curfew restrictions are in place and required permission must be obtained from travel permission boards to travel at such times (if need be, certainly)

– Young people and children under the age of 18 can travel intercity within the framework of rules that are subject to age groups that are not limited, provided that they have parents or guardians with them.

3-How will our citizens (except those who are 65 years of age and over and under 18 years of age), who do not have a mandatory state during the time and days when curfew restrictions are applied, travel?

“Any mandatory state (discharge or make a doctor’s appointment, relatives demise, is located in the city where the absence of a place to stay, central examination participation in the completion of military service, contract invitation to receive and release from prison) that is not applied and duration of long-distance travel restrictions curfew in the days of our citizens, but public transportation (plane, bus, train, ship, etc.) can be made possible by using it. 4- Can citizens travel by private car within the time period when the curfew restriction is not applied?

Long distance travel is allowed by private vehicles, provided that they remain within the time intervals other than the time and days during which the curfew restriction is applied (the time and days when there are no curfew restrictions, that is). However, long-distance travel with such private vehicles must be planned according to the starting times of the curfew restriction, and long-distance travel will not be allowed to continue without a travel permit during the curfew restrictions, even if the destination city has not been reached.
