Iraqi Parliament decides to keep soldier in Northern Iraq

It was stated by HAKIM ZAMILI, a top Iraqi official that the parliament had decided that the oil wells in Kirkuk should be handed over to the central administration and the government officials who voted in the referendum should be removed from office. It was also noted that this decision would cover all civil servants who work in security and other bureaucratic areas. Iraqi parliament had announced earlier to keep military power in Kirkuk and other controversial areas.

A written statement from  the parliament said “Parliament has decided that the government should have military power in order to protect the security of citizens in Kirkuk and other controversial areas,” It was also noted the Assembly had also decided that all border gates under the control of the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (IKBY) should be closed.
