Israel-Hamas War: Nato calls on Israel to use “proportionate force”

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has stated that Israel should respond proportionally to Hamas’s attack. Stoltenberg made this statement during a press conference at the end of the first day of the NATO Defense Ministers’ Meeting.

According news on Turkish media, Stoltenberg acknowledged that Israel was subjected to terrorist attacks over the weekend, resulting in the loss of innocent lives. He emphasized Israel’s right to self-defense but also urged that the response should be proportionate.

“I expect Israel’s response to be proportional. It is crucial for Israel to do its utmost to prevent the loss of innocent civilian lives while this conflict continues,” said Stoltenberg.

Stoltenberg also emphasized the importance of not exploiting the current conflict situation by countries hostile to Israel. He noted that the United States has increased its military presence in the region, which sends a significant deterrent message to prevent further escalation.
