“Israeli tension on the Turkey-Iran line
by IŞIN ELİÇİN (Medyascope)

As Turkey-Israel relations are just starting to rise, Turkey-Iran relations have been in decline for quite some time. Especially after this latest MYTH-MOSSAD cooperation, President Erdogan’s announcement of plans for operations in rural areas of Aleppo, where Iranian-backed militias are located in northern Syria, must have substantially stretched the ropes on the Ankara-Tehran line.

Israel warned its citizens in Turkey last week against the possibility of an attack by Iran, urging them to return to their countries immediately. Those who are currently in Israel and have a holiday program in Turkey have also been asked to cancel their trips. This is the second warning by Israeli officials about Turkey in the last month. A few days after the visit of Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu to Israel on May 25, it was announced that Turkey and other countries neighboring Iran were at risk for Israeli citizens on the grounds of an Iranian threat.

As a matter of fact, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Emir Abdullahiyan’s visit to Turkey, which was announced as June 6 in advance, was postponed at the last moment owing to an excuse that Cavusoglu’s program schedule was not suitable. If we take into account the last lines of Zvi Bar’el’s analysis entitled “Turkey has become a vital lever in the Israeli-Iranian conflict” by one of the authors of the Haaretz newspaper, the postponement may last for a long time.

“The United States is trying to create a regional defense alliance against Iran, and President Joe Biden has made it clear that one of the main reasons for his visit to the Middle East next month is the security of Israel. Ankara will not want to be excluded from this alliance and expects that Israel will do its part to help Turkey become part of this alliance and thus help restore relations with Washington”.
