Istanbul Governor announces number of tourists arriving in Istanbul in 6 months

Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya announced that 1 million 470 thousand 586 foreign tourists had visited the city in June and 6 million 755 thousand 300 in the first 6 months of this year.

Yerlikaya, in a share on her social media account, included the number of foreign tourists who came to the mega city in June and in the first 6 months of 2022.

In his share, Governor Yerlikaya said “The number of foreign tourists who came to our Istanbul, the center of culture, history and tourism, in June was 1 million 470 thousand 586. In the first 6 months of this year, 6 million 755 thousand 300 foreign tourists came to our city. We are waiting for our guests in our unique Istanbul.”

Editor’s note: However it is a fact that the nationality composition of guests visiting Istanbul has drastically changed in last couple of decades.
