Istanbul Stock Market completes the day with a 2.06% increase, on January 2, 2024
On Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index concluded the day with a 2.06% gain, reaching 7,624.29 points. While the BIST 100 index increased by 154.11 points compared to the previous closing, the total trading volume amounted to 77.8 billion Turkish liras.
The banking index gained 0.58%, and the holding index increased by 1.60%. Among the sector indices, the information technology sector was the highest gainer with 6.65%, while the sports sector was the only decliner with 1.00%.
According to AA’s report, from a technical perspective, the resistance level for the BIST 100 index is noted at 7,650 points for the upcoming day, with support levels at 7,500 and 7,400 points.
Economists participating in the AA Financial Inflation Expectation Survey predict a 3.19% increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in December.
The year-end inflation expectation of economists for 2024 is 42.39% according to the survey.
