Istanbulkart period for tourists begins
The “Istanbul City Card” which is to be made available for tourists coming to Istanbul, will be on sale starting tomorrow (September 1) with two different service options. The card, which will be presented with a guiding route and guide kit for visitors, will also be a memory card with six different designs.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has announced that within the scope of the project initiated with the vision of making the city the capital of tourism, it will be easier for foreign guests to visit Istanbul and go from one point to another.
Hop on-Hop off and transportation options
The card will include unlimited transportation rights from 1 to 15 days and a tourist bus tour option. Automats where cards will be made available will be located in more than 30 points highly populated by tourists.
Istanbul City Card holders will be able to visit the most visited places of Istanbul with double-decker buses belonging to IBB (municipality) in the ‘Hop on-Hop off’ service, which is the first of the options. By getting off at the point they want, they will be able to continue their journey for 24 hours with the newly arriving ring at the next stop.
Entrance to museums
In the other option, unlimited right of passage will be provided in public transportation in Istanbul according to the preferred number of days. The desired options from the services can be uploaded to the tourist card, besides the ring expedition, a long-term subscription can also be obtained.
Options such as entrance to museums connected to KULTUR AS (Culture Establishment of IBB) and usage of City Lines and Bosphorus tours, will be added to Istanbul City Card soon.
