Japanese Panasonic invests in solar energy power plant in Kayseri Turkey

Turkey which does not have natural energy sources such as oil and natural has focused on alternative energy options for quite a while now. Within this frame and as part of this new strategy many new investments continue to be realized.

To provide a most recent example SEFEROGLU Elektrik Co. of Turkey and its Japanese partner Panasonic have established a roof type solar power plant in Kayseri with an investment of US$ 7.2 million.

The first phase of the roof type solar power plant (GES) of the “Renewable Energy Cooperative” in Kayseri was opened in partnership with Japanese technology company Panasonic and SEFEROGLU Co.

According to the statement made by Panasonic, HIT panels developed by the company were used in the production facility of Kayseri Furnishers Renewable Energy Cooperative GES.

SEFEROGLU group will undertake the operation of the facility which will generate 7.5 gigawatt hours of electricity annually.

When Turkey’s first multi partner GES project with 743 SME members is completed,

743 SME member GES first multi-partner project of the investment is completed, the total installed capacity which is 5.8 megawatts currently will reach 35 megawatts approximately.
