SOLAR PANELS HOMESAt a time when energy bills are sky-rocketing, consumers are looking alternative sources to balance their budgets. Within this scope, solar panels seem to offer a solution for people who would like to avoid paying what is dictated by administrations.

For instance, in United Kingdom only, half a million UK homes are expected to have solar panels installed on their roofs by the end of this year and this figure is expected to reach one million by 2015.

It is reported that government data show that 495,459 solar panel installations have been carried out, the vast majority on homes, by Sunday, since a programme of subsidies began in 2010.

At the current rate of installation, of more than 2,800 homes a week, the half a million milestone will be passed by the end of the year, equating to about two per cent of UK households. According to The Solar Trade Association the target should be one million installations in 2015.

Homeowners who install solar panels under the ‘feed in tariff’ scheme receive subsidies which are paid for through levies on all consumer energy bills.
