Osman Tarık Özçelik, the President of the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) and Mayor of Alanya, shared insights from their discussions at the Antalya Tourism Fair. Held at the ANFAŞ Fair and Congress Center, the fair featured Alanya’s 60-square-meter stand, which saw a high volume of visitors on its first day. Alanya District Governor Fatih Ürkmezer, Mayor Özçelik, ALTSO President Eray Erdem, and ALTİD President Burhan Sili welcomed guests to the stand.

Productive Networking and Planning at the Fair

The Alanya delegation not only greeted visitors at their stand but also visited participating companies, gathering information on expectations and demands. They held strategic discussions on seasonal planning with representatives from key companies like SunExpress, Jet2Holidays, MTS Globe, and Libero On The Beach Tour, among others.

Mayor Özçelik: “We Aim to Diversify Our City’s Tourism”

Reflecting on the fair’s first day, Mayor Özçelik stated, “We visited Alanya’s stand alongside our District Governor Fatih Ürkmezer and held private meetings with senior executives from SunExpress, Jet2 Holidays, TUİ, Heran Tatil, and many other tourism companies at the Antalya Tourism Fair. Our goal is to diversify and ensure the sustainability of our city’s tourism.”

Discussions on Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport

Mayor Özçelik highlighted their conversations with tour operators regarding Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport, saying, “SunExpress aims to expand its fleet to 150 aircraft by 2032, and it’s gratifying to see Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport included in these plans. We’re continuing talks about flights to Gazipaşa, and SunExpress emphasized the importance of collaborating with a tour operator for this. We will proceed carefully on this front.”

“Jet2 to Increase Antalya Flights to 82, with 25% of Passengers Choosing Alanya”

Özçelik shared that 25% of Jet2’s passengers travel to Alanya, noting, “Jet2 informed us that they plan 78 weekly flights in 2024, rising to 82 by 2025 with the addition of flights from Bournemouth Airport. With its fleet of 217 aircraft, Jet2 is open to landing at Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport, and they anticipate exciting developments in 2026. Currently, 25% of Jet2’s 450,000 passengers choose Alanya, meaning 106,000 visitors. This is a clear indication of Alanya’s growing appeal.”
