Jill Morris, British Ambassador to Turkey visits Alim Karaca, Mayor of Fethiye

Jill Morris, British Ambassador to Turkey has paid a visit to Alim Karaca, Mayor of Fethiye. On this visit, Morris and Karaca exchanged views on the 2024 tourism season. Morris expressed her happiness at returning to Fethiye and congratulated Karaca on his reelection as mayor.

Morris highlighted Fethiye’s importance not only in tourism but also in agricultural production, mentioning plans for increased exports to the UK. She also noted that 4 million people from the UK were expected to visit Turkey for vacation this year, with a significant portion choosing Mugla, and they anticipated this number to exceed 5 million next year.

Karaca expressed his satisfaction with the visit, mentioning Fethiye’s presence in domestic and international tourism fairs and the efforts to extend the tourism season, including increasing direct flights between Dalaman and the UK. He also expressed his intention to personally attend the London Tourism Fair.
