KILICDAROGLU: The future of the state is at stake

CHP Chairman Kemal KILICDAROGLU said that achieving peace in the Middle East meant Turkey’s very rapid growth and development, adding ”The future of the state is at stake”.

KILICDAROGLU attended the ceremony held at the party headquarters due to the participation of 57 neighborhood headmen (muhtars) in Kayseri, in the CHP as new members. “We have become more encamped and polarized than we have ever been in our history, which is not true (good)” KILICDAROGLU said, explaining that everyone knew the situation which Turkey was in.

KILICDAROGLU continued: “I respect everyone’s faith. I have no authority to enter between Allah and the servants, and this authority has not even been given to the prophet. Only the Supreme Creator knows who is a believer and who is a non-believer. I have no right to object to anyone’s identity, because none of us have the freedom to choose our parents, but we are proud of our parents and ancestors. Therefore, I also do not find politics to be done right over identity. We have to respect his lifestyle. It belongs to everyone’s lifestyle. We have to be together, and Turkey needs to overcome this polarization. We have very big problems, much bigger than you think. I was in AGRI yesterday, 54 percent of Ağrı’s population is under the age of 24. They’re all young, but they’re all unemployed. What about these kids? There were a couple of factories, and they were customized, and then they closed down. Everyone is asking the quuestion ‘I wonder how I can go abroad?’. From there they found a Canadian option, about 10 thousand people went to Canada, settled there. But after all, this country is our hometown. Together, we have to bring our country to the light.”

”The future of the state is at stake,” Kemal KILICDAROGLU said, adding that this could not be accepted. Stating that Turkey had to be friendly with all its neighbors, the chairman said, “Why are we involved in the internal affairs of Syria? Why are we fighting with the Syrians?”

Referring to the fact that Turkey was related to the geography of the Middle East, KILICDAROGLU pointed out that there were Turks, Arabs and Kurds on both sides.

KILICDAROGLU continued: “Do you know what it means to achieve peace in the Middle East? It means that Turkey will grow very fast. It means that Turkey will develop very fast. Turkey is the dominant country. We can sell all the goods we produce to the Middle East. We can feed the Middle East. It’s good that we take the democratic standards of the European Union, but we also have to be an example to all the oppressed countries. After we declared our independence, all the oppressed countries also declared independence. We have declared our republic, and all the Muslim countries have declared republics as well. We are an example for them, we have to be an example.”
