Kuwaiti diplomat says Turkey favorite holiday destination for businessmen from Kuwait

Kuwaiti Ambassador to Turkey Abdullah Al-Duwaikh said on Thursday that Kuwaiti people were expecting Turkey to pass a law that would enable foreigners to buy immovables in Turkey as they had great interest in Turkey as a tourism destination.

“There are more than 300 people whom I know in person that want to buy real estates in Turkey,” al-Duwaikh told AA correspondent in an exclusive interview.

Al-Duwaikh has been in Turkey for almost seven and a half years, and is the
dean of foreign diplomats in Turkey. He is representing more than 120 foreign missions in Turkey.

Kuwait’s administrator Al-Sabah family were spending their vacation in Turkey and had a house in the Aegean holiday resort of Bodrum, al-Duwaikh said.

Al-Duwaikh said Kuwaiti people were thinking of cultural and historical investments in Istanbul, Antalya, Bodrum, Izmir, Yalova and Bursa, and some businessmen had projects to construct hotels in the Black Sea Region.

Around 50,000 Kuwaiti people prefer Turkey as a tourist destination every year.

Moreover, al-Duwaikh said Kuwaiti companies had investments and partnerships in Turkey, and Kuwait was investing in Turkey as it had confidence in Turkish economy.

Al-Duwaikh also said Kuwaiti investments in Turkey were around 6.5 billion USD.
