Head of the EU Commission: Ban on flights of Turkish Airlines is on the EU’s agenda

Ursula von der Leyen, the Head of the EU Commission has said that allegations that Turkish Airlines was transporting illegal immigrants to Belarus are being investigated.

She said, “The EU will investigate ways to blacklist and impose sanctions on airlines of countries that are active in human trafficking.”  After this statement, it was commented that the allegations that Turkish Airlines is transporting illegal immigrants to Belarus will be investigated.

On the other hand she also said on her Twitter account, “I demand the approval of the expanded sanctions and possible sanctions against the relevant third-country airlines. We want to prevent a humanitarian crisis and ensure safe returns. Belarus should stop endangering human lives.”
