Last minute statement from Barzani: It’s too late to postpone referendum

IKBY President Barzani commented that it was too late for the referendum to be postponed. Mesut Barzani, the head of the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (IKBY), said that there was no time left for the postponement of the September 25^th referendum planned to be held in 3 days time.

“We are exposed to pressure day and night to postpone the referendum. We will not return to the past that is a failure. We will be ready for serious negotiations after September 225^th. It is too late now and we don’t have time left for the postponement of the referendum. I am telling you, I’m not someone to embarrass myself in front of my people.”
