POLLS ABOUT POLITICS IN TURKEY

As Turkey copes with issues of economy and local politics survey companies keep publishing poll results based on their most recent work in regards. One of such companies is AREA ANKET (poll) which has just shared results of the last survey about political agenda in May.

Down below is the data thus provided:

“VOTES OF REPUBLIC ALLIANCE MELTING”

“If there was an election for MPs today, which party would you vote for?”

The answers to the question are as follows: AKP: 35.1 CHP: 23.1Good Party: 14.1HDP: 10.1 MHP: 10.1

“VOTERS WANT PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM”

“What would be your choice to vote, if a referendum was held on Turkey’s governing system?

37.8 percent answered Presidential Government System, while 47.5 percent answered Strengthened Parliamentary System. 14.7 percent said they were undecided and would not go to the polls.

“PRESIDENTIAL SYSTEM HAS FAILED”

“Do you find the presidential system of Government successful?”

The answers to the question were as follows: successful 42,5 failed 51,3 I have no idea  6,2

“WHO SHOULD RUN FOR PRESIDENCY?”

“Who should be a candidate for president? How would your voting behavior be if the following names appear as the joint candidate of the opposition against Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the presidential election?”

“I will vote for …… candidate” results are as follows: Mansur slow: 45.0, Ekrem Imamoglu: 40.6, Meral Akşener: 37.2, Kemal Kilicdaroglu: 23.8, Muharrem Ince: 21.2, Ali Babacan: 15.97

“EARLY ELECTIONS NEEDED”

“Do you think an early general election is needed?”the answers to the question were as follows:

Yes: 51, No: 43.8, No Idea: 4.3

“INTERIOR MINISTER MUST RESIGN”

“What do you think Interior Minister should do after Mafia leader’s claims?”

The proportion of those who stated that he should resign on his question was 37.3 percent, the proportion of those who stated that he did not need to resign, but the judiciary should investigate the allegations was 23.2 percent, the proportion of those who stated that he should not resign was 20.7 percent, and the proportion of those who stated that he did not know / was not interested was 18.8 percent.
