Leader of Felicity Party shares date for next elections in Turkey
The Chairman of the Felicity Party, KARAMOLLAOGLU, paid a visit to DAVUTOGLU (former member of Ak Party and PM of Turkey) the Chairman of the Future Party.
At a press conference after the visit, both leaders made statements about Erdogan’s presidential candidacy.
Karamollaoglu said: “The candidacy of President Mr. Erdogan depends on certain conditions. I am of the opinion that the elections will be held ahead of time, rather than on time. I say there may be an election near the end of next year. I don’t know how they will overcome the process related to Erdogan’s candidacy.
Davutoglu, on the other hand, used the following statements about Erdogan’s candidacy: It would be right to have the election in 2022. There is an impasse of power. The election law needs to be made. I’m not sure how they will manage to do it on time, either.
TENDENCY TO HAVE EARLY ELECTIONS
Due to many issues the country has been going through currently, the tendency to have the elections before due date (2023) has been much stronger for quite a while, now. The ruling party and partner MHP seem to be resisting this approach although many signals are observed they are getting ready for an early election as well.
