Local election 2024 in Turkey: According to MetroPOLL, Imamoğlu leads by 3 points

According to a survey by the MetroPOLL Research Company, Ekrem İmamoğlu is 3 points ahead of his opponent Murat Kurum in the mayoral race in Istanbul. Özer Sencar, the founder and manager of MetroPOLL Research, shared the results of the survey conducted on February 21-22 from the X account.

The survey, conducted with 1664 people in 39 districts, recorded a margin of error of +/- 2.40 points. Accordingly, after distributing the undecided voters, Ekrem İmamoğlu, the current Istanbul mayor of the CHP, wins the election with 43.5 points. The candidate of the AKP and MHP, Murat Kurum, receives 40.2 points.

The vote percentages of other candidates are as follows:

Candidates of the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), Meral Danış Beştaş and Murat Çepni: 6.1%.

The candidate of the GOOD Party, Buğra Kavuncu: 3%.

The candidate of the Victory Party, Azmi Karamahmutoğlu: 2.5%.

The candidate of the Welfare Party (YRP), Mehmet Altınöz: 2.3%.

According to the research, nearly half of the GOOD Party voters and about one-third of the DEM Party voters tend to vote for İmamoğlu.
