LÖSEV, an organization providing services for treatment of children with leukemia in Turkey

The LÖSEV “Children with Leukemia Health and Education Foundation” which was established in 1998, is a big family with hundreds of employees today serving tens of thousands of patients.

LÖSEV FOUNDATION ESTABLISHED IN 1998

“It was the first days when we admitted children with leukemia to SSK Ankara Children’s Hospital for treatment… After the negative response we received from the hospital administration to the request for a small TV for the children’s rooms, the doctors, nurses and staff working in that hospital collected money between us and bought a small TV. In the early days, it was a big problem for us to meet the travel expense or school needs of a single child. However, as the days went by, we grew, we got stronger; we developed projects, we expanded our goals. We have worked honestly and with all our energy to meet all kinds of needs of our children.”

TURKEY’S FIRST HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN WITH LEUKEMIA LAUNCED IN 2000

“In 2000, we launched Turkey’s first and only Hospital for Children with Leukemia, LÖSANTE and in 2008, the School for Children with Leukemia, where children with leukemia could receive free college education. In 2010, we launched the Village for Children with Leukemia, so that our families who came from outside Ankara for their treatment could stay for a long or short term during treatment. During this time, we have raised awareness not only for children with leukemia and cancer patients, but also of the whole of Turkey about leukemia, cancer and ways of prevention. We have continued to create deep-rooted solutions, provide social and permanent services.”

FIRST CITY FOR CHILDREN WITH LEUKEMIA ESTABLISHED IN 2015

“In 2015, we introduced LÖSANTE, the first City for Children with Leukemia in Europe and the most equipped multidisciplinary hospital in our country by saying ”let humanity not die, let people not die either”. Today we are a big family with hundreds of employees, tens of thousands of patients and their families, millions of volunteers…
