Main opposition leader makes important statement about Syrian and Afghan refugees
Main opposition leader KEMAL KILICDAROGLU has made very important statements regarding the refugee policies of Turkey. In an interview on a Turkish TV channel CHP leader shared following.
“Our citizens living in Turkey resent refugees. Well, I do not. We should be angry at whoever brought (caused it) the refugees here. You’ve opened the doors, everyone’s here. In a sense, it is the ruling power currently that started the war and escalated the tensions there. Refugees are fleeing from there, they are coming. You’ve opened the doors, and they’re coming.
“WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO FOR REFUGEES WHEN WE COME TO POWER?”
“When we are in power, I will send the refugees back home. They have records. Some of them are off the record. First, we will open embassies. We will make every effort to end the civil war in Syria. We need to meet with the Damascus administration, the European Union, Russia and the United States.”
“We’ll go to Europe and say, ‘Look, the Civil War is over. If you do not want them to come to your own countries, we must place them in Syria,’ we will say. We’ll build houses, schools, roads, hospitals.”
“We will say to Gaziantep industrialists, ’build these factories’. We’ll do one more thing, sit down and talk to Assad. We’ll secure lives and property together. After that, the whole problem will be solved. We are thinking about these things because we know the state.”
We’ll send back Afghans, too. We will send them via persuading (talking to them). For this, we are waiting for their number to become clear first. We don’t know if they’ll stay in Turkey or go somewhere else. Additional asylum seekers may come. Serious measures are being taken (already started) along the Iranian border. The uncertain atmosphere needs to disappear.”
“We really want to solve the problems that have penetrated into the tissues of Turkey.”
