The Marmara, Avsa and Ekinlik islands connected to Balikesir in the Sea of Marmara experience a high concentration of holidaymakers due to the holiday season. Mayor Süleyman Aksoy of Marmara Island noted that 150 thousand people had come to the islands which normally have a population of 10 thousand.

The population of the Marmara, Avsa and Ekinlik islands approached 15 times their normal population with holidaymakers.

All holiday reservations have been full at the facilities on the islands, which stand out with their proximity to the surrounding metropolitan cities of Istanbul, Kocaeli, Bursa, Balikesir and Tekirdağ, the sea and the historical texture.

The necessary measures were taken by the Marmara District Governorship, Marmara Islands Municipality and other organizations for the guests to spend the holiday without problems.

The population of the Marmara, Avsa and Ekinlik islands, where sea transportation voyages continue without interruption, has already approached 15 times their normal population.

“AVSHA WILL BREAK A RECORD THIS YEAR”

Stating that they had completed their preparations to make the guests comfortable, Aksoy said, “As of now, 150 thousand people have come to our islands with a population of 10 thousand 500. We estimate that it will reach 200-250 thousand people on the first day of the holiday. We can see this from the reservations made. Avsha Island will break a big record this year.”
