Turkish-Labor data: Hunger limit has increased to 10 thousand 373 TL, poverty line has increased to 33 thousand 788 TL

Türk-Iş (Labor Union) calculated the hunger limit as 10 thousand 373 liras and the poverty line as 33 thousand 789 liras for a family of 4, in June. The “cost of living” of a single employee was also determined as 13 thousand 471 liras per month.

The results of the June 2023 “Hunger and Poverty Line Survey”, which Türk-Iş conducts every month in order to reveal the living conditions of employees and determine the effects of price changes on basic necessities on the family budget, were announced.

According to the research, the “hunger limit”, which refers to the amount of food expenditure that a family of 4 people needs to make in June in order to have a healthy, balanced and adequate diet, was 10 thousand 373 TL.

The “poverty line”, which corresponds to the total amount of food and clothing, housing, transportation, education, health and other mandatory expenses for similar needs, was calculated as 33 thousand 789 liras.

The “cost of living” of a single employee was also determined as 13 thousand 471 liras per month.

The increase in the minimum spending amount required for a family of four living in Ankara for food was 0.10 percent compared to the previous month.
