Marmaris streets will smell of lemon after municipality plants trees in sidewalks

LEMON TREES PLANTED ON STREETS IN MARMARIS

Marmaris municipality was not indifferent to the call of the students. At the request of the students of the “Technical and Professional Anatolian High School” in Marmaris a lemon sapling was planted on the street where the school is located

Marmaris Municipality which plants fruit trees in parks, sidewalks and other landscape points for a citrus-scented Marmaris, heeded the call of the students, this time.

Streets 124 and 105 where the school is located, were designated as ‘Lemon Tree Street’ at the request of the Technical and professional Anatolian High School teacher Nuray and her students.

50 SAPLINGS WERE PLANTED

50 lemon tree saplings were planted on two streets in cooperation with Marmaris Prefect and Marmaris district “National Education Directorate”. Marmaris Governor, Deputy Mayor of Marmaris, District Director of National Education and school director planted saplings with students and gave life water. In the project, saplings were also planted in the school garden and in the garden of the prefect’s residence located on the same street. The happiness of the students who were the architect of such a project was visible in their eyes.

Mayor Mehmet Oktay is known to attach great importance to equipping our district with fruit trees. Within the framework of its Instructions, Parks and Gardens Directorate continues its work. The authority strives to plant lemon, citrus, Tangerine, olive trees in all parks, sidewalks and landscape.
