Message from Turkish Minister of Interior: “We will not allow those who perpetrate violence against women”

Turkish Minister of Interior, Ali Yerlikaya, posted a message on the X (formerly Twitter) platform, stating, “We will not allow those who perpetrate violence against women to breathe.” His message was as follows:
– “The foundation of peace in our country is based on women’s fundamental rights and freedoms and zero tolerance for violence against women. We will not allow those who attempt to harm women or disturb their peace to find any comfort. With our Gendarmerie, Police, and Coast Guard, we will continue to guarantee peace.”
– “To this end, we have increased the number of teams working day and night for the peace and security of Istanbul, and we will continue to do so. After reinforcing personnel and vehicles in the first half of 2024, we increased the number of personnel in Istanbul’s police force by approximately 7,000. We also doubled the number of day and night patrol teams.”
– “Most recently, we added 2,380 personnel and 174 vehicles to Istanbul’s police force. The increased personnel and patrol teams in neighborhoods and streets aim to ensure the peace and security of our cities. Our security forces are always at the service of our people.”
OUR DEAR NATION SHOULD REST ASSURED
“Our dear nation should rest assured: We are tirelessly fighting against those who threaten our peace and criminal elements 365 days a year, day and night, and we will continue to do so.”
