Meteorology has issued warnings for heavy rainfall in two cities and rain alerts for five regions

According to the latest forecasts by the Turkish Meteorological Service, the weather will be mostly cloudy across the country, with the southwestern parts of Marmara, the Aegean, and the western Mediterranean expected to see rainfall. Snow or snow mixed with rain is expected in the higher altitudes of some regions.

Rain and snow in Western Anatolia and Inner Aegean

Rainfall is expected to be generally in the form of showers and storms. In some higher areas, such as the southern parts of Marmara, the highlands of Inner Aegean, the Toros Mountains in Western Mediterranean, and the inland regions of the Western Black Sea, rain will mix with snow.

Heavy rainfall warning for Muğla and Antalya

The eastern parts of Muğla and Antalya are expected to experience heavy rainfall. In the morning and night, fog and frost are anticipated in the interior and eastern parts of the country.

Temperature drop in the west

Temperatures are forecast to drop by 3-5 degrees in the western parts of Turkey, with little change expected in the rest of the country. Snow risk is also present in the higher elevations of the Eastern Anatolia and the interior of the Eastern Black Sea regions.

Detailed regional forecasts:

  • Marmara: Cloudy with intermittent rain, strong rain is expected in the southern parts like Bursa.
  • AEGEAN: Generally cloudy with rain and snow at higher elevations. Heavy rainfall is expected in Muğla’s eastern parts.
  • MEDITERRANEAN: Mostly cloudy with scattered rain and snow in the mountains. Antalya will experience intense rainfall in some areas.
  • Central Anatolia: Cloudy with rain and snow, particularly in the southern and western parts like Eskişehir and Konya.
  • Western Black Sea: Rain, snow, and mixed weather are expected. Fog and frost are anticipated, particularly in the mornings.
  • Eastern Anatolia and Eastern Black Sea: Generally cloudy, with fog, frost, and snow risk in the mountains, and avalanche warnings in steep areas.
