HEALTH MINISTER KOCA - EPIDEMIC

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said “If all our citizens, whether inactive or vaccinated with the mRNA vaccine, have been vaccinated more than three months ago after the specified vaccination schedule, they will be able to get a reminder dose of the vaccine with the type of vaccine they want,”

Minister Koca had previously announced that a reminder dose would be administered six months after the second dose.

The minister of health, who published a written statement on Twitter after the meeting of the scientific council, noted in a nutshell:

* The new variant has caused the virus to become more easily transmitted. In addition to its easy transmission, no negative conditions have been reported regarding its power to make people sick. From this point of view, there is no disturbing situation regarding the Omicron variant.

* One of the measures that can be taken against the Omicron variant is to strengthen the protection shield with the vaccine. New evidence on the effect of vaccines against variants has been evaluated.

We have the advantage of being one of the countries that started to apply reminder doses at the earliest. In order to increase the effect of vaccines against new variants, the effect of reminder doses is extremely important.

* In order to prevent the increase in the number of daily cases seen in Europe from occurring in our country, it has been decided to apply a reminder dose for our citizens who have passed more than three months over the established vaccination schedule.
